PRINCIPAL / PARTNER, INVESTMENTS
The VC firm is seeking a Principal or Partner to join the Investments Team.

Principal / Partner Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the Founder and Managing Partner, and Partner, to drive value for the Core Fund and portfolio, including:

Sourcing and Assessing New Deals
The Principal/Partner will assess, source, and lead new deals/investment opportunities for the Core Fund. Responsibilities to include:
  • Identify high potential investment opportunities by building relationships with VC peers and operating companies
  • Build deal pipeline by generating company target lists from thematic research of compelling investment themes
  • Conduct comprehensive due diligence including understanding competitive dynamics, market drivers, business models, opportunities and risks
  •  Vet and build sensitized detailed financial operating and returns models
Portfolio Company Support
The Principal/Partner will help portfolio companies be successful. Responsibilities to include:
  • Work with companies, partners and investors to help grow value of the underlying portfolio and create opportunities for our industry and venture network
  • Regularly track portfolio company performance and provide strategic support
  • Serve on portfolio company boards and monitor record financial and qualitative performance of portfolio companies on a quarterly basis
  • Track fund returns in conjunction with fund administrator

Qualifications and Qualities of an Ideal Candidate:
  • 10+ years experience sourcing and evaluating investment opportunities at a top-tier Venture Capital fund or Growth Equity firm
  • Proven track record of sourcing, structuring, evaluating, and closing and existing on successful investments
  • Meaningful and broad existing connections within the venture capital and early-stage startup ecosystem
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to understand business models
  • Exemplary interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Deep passion for technology, investing, startups, and entrepreneurship
  • Chicago-based or willingness to relocate
