Our client, an alternative investment manager, is seeking a Senior Business Development
Professional to join their Investor Relations team. The candidate will be responsible for working
with a small team of investor relations professionals, while reporting directly to senior
management and assisting in the oversight of $7.5B AUM.
The primary responsibility will be to effectively represent all portfolio strategies in support of
the firm’s global business development and client retention efforts. The role will include
developing new and expanding existing relationships, as well as working with the team on new
leads.
Primary Responsibilities:
• The candidate will be responsible for assisting with product development, fundraising,
creation of marketing materials, due diligence execution, ongoing fund reporting and
client servicing.
• The role supports key strategic priorities and provides a high degree of visibility to
senior management and investors.
• Conducting prospecting efforts for the firm’s investment strategies.
• Aid in managing and creating in-depth marketing collateral to strategically engage
targeted LPs and greater competitive market landscape to enhance the new business
pipeline.
• Helping develop coverage and relationship management business plan to provide top
tier client service.
• Maintaining an active working knowledge of all current investment strategies and firm
activities.
• Willingness to travel and work independently with a lean team.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree required
• 5 - 8 years of work experience in business development, investor relations, or client
service role
• The candidate must have strong organizational, interpersonal, quantitative and
analytical skills, as well as strong writing capabilities
• To succeed in this role, an individual must possess a strategic orientation combined with
strong data analytical skills and excellent potential for relationship management
• Exceptional interpersonal skills - ability to establish rapport and quickly engender trust
and respect internally as well as with institutional investors and other industry contacts;
Outgoing, collaborative and inclusive style
• Ability to work effectively with a variety of internal business units including portfolio
management and investment professionals; legal and compliance; finance and
operations
• Problem solver with technical skills to research and suggest solutions
